Jack had suffered injuries, there were serious just because the amount of blood he had lost. After the alpha wolf had been killed, he was attacked and his attacker had severed one of his major arteries. He was taken to the hospital where he received multiple blood transfussions and lots of rest.
A nurse came in, changing his IV once more and checked on his state, saying that he was improving, but the look on her face said otherwise. He was in a room by himself, his only visitors so far were his pack makes, his uncle and his pack and of course Kailah and Amanda's parents.
Today the only visitor he saw was Hunter, who had to wear a cast on his leg and was on crutches. He had gone downstairs to the cafeteria for something to eat, leaving his alpha alone. Jack was asleep, the beeping to the machines that were hooked up to him the only thing that could be heard in the silent room.

It had been a few days since the fight; since Mason had last seen Jack and since he had made the mistake of kissing Amanda. Still riddled in guilt and worry, he had heard news of Jack being in the hospital and since hadn’t been able to sleep or eat. He’d been trying to avoid everyone in a desperate hope that everything would just disappear and go back to normal though he knew that was unlikely to happen any time soon. He’d resorted to sitting in his bedroom with his phone turned off, ignoring his brother and sister too every time they had tried to knock on his door. Of course, he couldn’t sit around forever and hide away; there were thing’s he’d have to face if he ever wanted the chance to be happy again. Shifting on his bed where he lay, he glanced at his clock and sighed. It was getting late and it was already growing dark outside. On his bedside table, next to his clock, lay a picture of him and Jack from just before all the chaos had started. They both looked happy, in fact it was the happiest Mason had ever felt and with a heavy heart, he wished he could turn back time and go back to then. It was becoming a struggle just to breath properly without the tears burning in his eyes. A few times he had turned his phone on or picked up a pen and paper to write to Jack but each time he told himself there was no point. The wolf was just as stubborn as he was and so far hadn’t given mason the time of day to apologise or explain. Another hour passed and in that time he argued with himself, something that was becoming a slight issue when it came to him trying to stay sane. Rolling out of bed, he pulled a jumper off his floor and pulled it over his head before climbing in to his high tops. Looking in the mirror, he looked like death. The dark circles under his eyes were standing out against his pale skin and unlike his usual confident posture, he looked about ready to fall over. He took his car keys from the side and unlocked his bedroom door. Outside, the house was silent, Madison and Maya clearly being elsewhere by now having given up on trying to coax the eldest from his room. Stumbling down the corridor and down the stairs, he left the house without even locking it and climbing in to his car to drive the few miles to the hospital. All the way there, the voice inside his head which had lately been getting the best of him kept telling him to turn around and go home, that there was no point and he wouldn’t be welcome anyway. As much as that thought hurt Mason though, he still had to see Jack, even if the man didn’t know he had been. He needed to see Jack was ok and somehow get and apology across to him. At the hospital, mason stood outside for a few minutes, picking up the confidence to step inside and start looking for the man he still loved. A few of the staff gave him a funny look before he finally walked in and headed to the desk. After getting Jacks ward and room number, he made his way up the stairs to the top floor where he lingered around, pacing the corridor a few times before he finally looked for Jack. He found him pretty easily; being in the second room he had passed the first time around. Peering through the window, he saw jack and felt his heart stop. He looked so frail compared to the man Mason had once known. Glancing around the corridor to check the coast was clear and that no one was about to throw him out for being there after visiting hours, he carefully and quietly opened the door and tiptoed in. Once the door was securely shut behind him, he turned to look at Jack again; his heart beat now hammering against his chest as he silently walked over to his bed and sat in the chair next to him. He wasn’t sure if jack could hear him and even if he could if he would even care. Tears streamed steadily down his cheeks as he leant forward and rested his head on the pillow next to Jack and hesitantly reached for the man’s hand. He spent a while entwining his fingers around Jacks with a slightly shaky hand before he finally picked up the courage to talk. “ J-Jack?” He whispered, turning his face to look at the man. ”Jack… I-I’m so sorry for everything I have done. I didn’t mean to hurt you… I-I didn’t mean to hurt anyone. I just want you to listen to me but you keep pushing me away… I don’t know what to do anymore. I-I don’t want to be without you… It hurts… more than you would ever know. You’re the only thing I live for and without you there is no point in me being here…” He had to choke back his tears as he came close to crying. He didn’t care how pathetic he sounded. Besides, the powers had pretty much left him by now leaving him an emotional mess who couldn’t help but finally admit to his mistakes and let it all out. He moved his hand and ran his fingers through Jack’s hair, kissing his cheek lightly before resting his head again. He had to fight the urge to lie down next to Jack and hold him, especially since the bed didn’t look like it could hold them both. “ Please don’t die and leave me here Jack… I-If you do… I’m going with you. At least if you are still breathing I know I can still see you sometimes… and I won’t complain. I just don’t want to live knowing you’re not here”.

Jack had fallen into a deep sleep, it would take alot of wake him up at this point. The medication mixed with his natural fatigue was perfect mixture of a very deep and good nap. He didn't know smell or hear Mason at the door and just made a soft snoring sound and his heart beat quicken but didn't register that with Mason being there. He didn't stir when the witch came into the room and sat down beside of his bed.
His fingers were entwined with Masons, his hand did tightened up some as if holding onto the witch for just a moment longer. He could hear Mason's voice, but it didn't make him wake up now yet at least. Hunter had come back from being downstairs and smelt another being in the same room with Jack. He growled and looked through the tiny window to see it was none other than Mason. He blinked for a moment, as if amazed that the witch was actually here and decided to stay outside to let the two get some privacy. Although he would respect that, the thoughts of what happened between Mason and Amanda made him visible shaken. They.....kissed........and it even appeared, if that were the case then why was Mason here and looking like someone who was about to loose the man they loved? He knew he would have to tell Jack, but he didn't want to make Jack's condition even worst so he will keep his mouth shut....for now.
Jack eyes finally fluttered opened and he looked to his right to see Mason's pretty face. He looked confused for a moment before speaking in a soft voice. Mason......what are you doing here? He asked softly. He was to tired to be angry with the witch any longer and weakly reached out to wipe the tears away from Mason's face with a smile. Didn't think I would see you again........are you okay......I hope you didn't get hurt during that battle...... He added.

Through his tears Mason hadn’t noticed Jack stirring beside him, his mind too occupied on other things to really take in anything at that moment. He hadn’t expected to see Jack like this and it was hurting more than he had imagined possible. If the man didn’t wake up, that would mean Mason would never be able to make up for what he had done and there was no way he could let Jack go knowing he’d hurt him and hadn’t had the chance to tell him he still loved him. If he did wake, Mason would have to tell him everything even though it would kill him too but he wasn’t one to be dishonest about anything, especially not towards Jack. He had never believed in relationships built on lies.
Having heard nothing from those close to Jack lately, Mason had no idea to what extent Jack’s wounds were at. Watching the man’s chest rise and fall steadily through blurry eyes, he was oblivious to the fact they were being watched from outside the small window as he tried to figure out all the options he had in his head. The high pitched beeps from h monitor were even drown out with the amount of different thoughts rushing through his mind before he was brought back to earth but the sound of Jack’s voice.
As soon as his eyes met Jack’s they grew wide and his heart stopped for a second. He barely heard what the man said as he started to sob a little more uncontrollably in over whelming relief. “Jack!” All the negative thoughts he had been worried about having to face were pushed aside as he sprung up and nearly tripped over whilst throwing his arms around Jack. He didn’t even care that the bed groaned under his sudden weight practically been thrown onto it. Although Jack had attempted to clear his tears away, fresh ones were now creating a steady stream down his cheeks and wetting Jacks hospital robe.
For a few moments, he couldn’t bring himself to talk as he clung tightly to Jack. He just wanted to stay as he was for a while, holding on to the man that he had missed so much. So far he hadn’t been told to leave which is what he had been expecting and as he buried his face in the mans shoulder, he couldn’t help but pretend for a moment that everything was back to normal.
Pulling away again, rather red faced and embarrassed by his tears, he made to apologise quickly for throwing himself at Jack and quickly manoeuvred so he was sitting on the side of the bed, picking at his sleeves nervously as he thought about how to answer. Yes he had been injured but there was no way he could tell Jack that, not with the man having enough on his plate to worry about him. He also wanted to leave Amanda out of the conversation for now, at least until Jack was strong enough to deal with anymore stress. Deciding it best to not make the man worry, he shook his head hesitantly before looking back at Jack. “No… I didn’t get hurt. I left just after you saved me… I didn’t want to get in the way…and… and you didn’t look like you wanted or needed me there anyway.”
Although he was relieved Jack was ok, he still held a grim expression on his frail face. He just needed to figure out why he was there now. “I’m sorry… I shouldn’t have come.” He admitted, glancing back at the door and having half a mind to leave whilst things were going smoothly, at least smoother than they had been lately. “I heard you were in hospital though and no one told me what was wrong so I had to see you. I just wanted to know that you’re ok. I honestly thought I was never going to see you again either and… and... I just wanted to see your face again. And your smile.”
It was getting harder to talk as he choked on his words, wanting nothing more than to go back to being silent and just holding Jack close until the man got better. He wiped roughly at his tears before picking at the hems on his sleeves again, wishing there was someway to show Jack just how much he needed him back. “I miss you Jack.” He admitted quietly, barely loud enough for anyone to hear but at least he had said it. “Don’t go dying on me please. Having to carry on my life knowing you hate me is bad enough.”

Jack wasn't sure why he wasn't acting angry towards Mason. Maybe it was the medication that was making him all happy go lucky....or maybe he was just to tired at the moment to be angry. There was a small part of him though deep down that remained angry with the witch for putting Kailah and himself in danger the way he did, but at the moment that seem to be just something that had happened in the past.
He had a huff at Mason throwing his weight onto the bed which was more on him. He gasped for breath, coughing some when Mason finally let the weight off him and ran a hand through his black hair. He kept his eyes on the witch, smiling some and was happy that Mason was okay.....although he was angry with the witch, he needed to know that Mason was safe. Well I guess I was still mad at you......plus I didn't want you hurt either...... He said softly and smiled.
He leaned his head back against the pillow, keeping his eyes up towards the ceiling and could hear Hunter outside the door. He could see the shadow of his second in command and was thankful that he stayed outside, knowing when the alpha needed some private time. He looked back to Mason at hearing that the witch needed to see him and his smile. I'm glad you came....... He said.
It's not that I hate you Mason.......but.......in all honestly you have done nothing but taken me and everything you had for granted.......I know that me not taking you seriously as you would have liked was bad on my part and I am willing to admit that....but I am honestly tired of you always blaming things on me.......you are not the only one in Bitter Springs that need me.....you are going to have to learn to share...... He said.

Seeing Jack smile and hearing those words leave the man's lips was honestly enough to make Mason want to break down again. It had to mean he still cared somewhere deep down right? Mason wasn’t going to get ahead of himself though, not since realising that luck hadn’t exactly been on his side lately and didn’t want to build himself up for disappointment. He realised then that he had never thanked Jack for saving him the other day. He forced a small smile to his face as he said a quick thank you, which for once in his life sounded genuine.
Still, he hadn’t expected to see Jack and not have to face some of his faults. He listened carefully to Jack with his head hung in shame. It was true, he did take everything for granted and he did pine for attention of Jack when he knew the man had other priorities to tend to. That was something he would admit too and agree he needed to stop. For the most part, it was jealousy that let him down but compared to a lot of men and women that Jack new, Mason felt insuperior to them.
“I know Jack… a-and I’m sorry. I really am. I’m an idiot. I’ve spent hours on end wishing I could take it all back. I-I really didn’t mean to hurt you… especially not Kailah. You know better than anyone here that I would never hurt anyone Jack, not if they didn’t deserve it, and… and I’m sorry… I couldn’t control it. It wasn’t me. A-And I don’t mean to blame things on you either. But you never listen to me when I try to be serious… And it hurts. It hurts almost as much as it does when you pushed me away.”
He stopped talking now, sighing heavily as he realised there probably wasn’t much point in him telling Jack his honest feelings, at least not if there was no hope for them. He couldn’t bring himself to look at Jack as fresh tears rolled down his cheeks, still fearing he had lost the man he loved forever. “I don’t know what else to say Jack… I have apologised… countless of times. I-I still love you but I’m a fucking jealous, creep who doesn’t deserve you or anyone and I have messed everything up and I’m sorry. I am really, really sorry… I-I just want things to go back the way they were. I should go.”
He wiped at his eyes once again, rubbing the wet marks from his jumper on to his jeans and standing up. He didn’t want to go, not at all. If it were up to him he would stay with Jack all night but unfortunately for him, the ball was in Jacks court. He paused before getting chance to even walk across the room though and turned back to Jack looking emptier than ever. “I just wish I knew what to say for you to forgive me. You were the one who kept me grounded and gave me a reason to smile. It's almost not worth breathing without you .”

Well he did have to give Mason that. It wasn't the Mason he knew and loved that night....Mason had been tainted by Amanda and her damn power hungry self. Amanda had given Mason these...powers and it was clear the witch hadn't wanted them, but Mason shouldn't have pinned the whole thing on Jack the way he did and yell at his daughter. Jack knew that striking Mason the way he did was wrong and went at everything the wrong way.
He sigh softly and licked his lower lip. I'm sorry about not taking you seriously.......and for pushing you away......but....you did endanger my daughters life....which isn't something I could just welcome you with open arms the very next day. He said.
He listened as Mason tried to explain himself and wondered if Mason really meant everything he said. The witch had never been one to ever lie to him before, but his emotions were very conflicted at the moment. I wish that everything could go back to the way they were.....but...I honestly lost my trust in you.....I want to work on it...but it'll take time.....I still do love you more than anything and I want nothing more than to make you happy and start over. He said with a smile.
Hunter was almost heart broken at what was being said and knowing that Mason had did something that would surely break the alpha even more than he already was. Would Mason even have the balls to tell Jack what had happened between Amanda and him? Finally, the second in command couldn't stand it anymore and made his presence known by opening the door. He gave his alpha a respectable smile, but once his eyes met Mason, he couldn't help but to feel them turn dark. Hunter grabbed Mason by the arm and pulled the witch out into the hallway, leaving Jack confused but he didn't move. Hunter just pushed Mason against the wall and didn't leave any room for the sneaky little witch to get out from. I know what you and Amanda did.......why would you kiss her.....do you have feelings for her now...is that it? He asked and narrowed his eyes at Mason.

Mason kept quiet after Jack had finished speaking, worried that if he said anything it would take away the little bit of hope the man had given him. So it wasn’t a promise or anything but it still gave him something to hang on to and that was good enough for the time being. He didn’t want to push Jack or his luck any further so nodded his head to show he had understood before biting his lip and looking at Jack with somewhat slight gratitude in his eyes. “Well… Maybe once you feel better I can see you for an hour… just to talk properly, if that’s ok with you… Just please don’t block me out completely.” He said quietly before hanging his head again.
He had been about to turn and leave when the door opened behind him and made him jump. Turning, his eyes narrowed when he saw the young boy Jack had taken on as second in command in the pack. What was he doing here? Mason wondered to himself and how much has he heard? He was taken aback by the look Hunter gave him as their eyes met and just before he was dragged from the room, he glanced back at Jack with an equally puzzled look.
The air was knocked out of him a little as he connected with the wall, whining slightly as he banged his head too before glaring down at the young wolf. The words falling from Hunters mouth made no sense to him and quite frankly, left him even more confused than before and also a little angry. “What? God no! Are you fucking serious? She’s my best fucking friend you moron!” He exclaimed, clearly shocked by the accusations being forced on to him and looking just as offended too. “I love her as a friend but that’s it. Jeez! What the hell has it got to do with you anyway? No… more importantly… how the hell do you even know?”
His voice had grown slightly shrilly as he struggled to push Hunter of him, starting to get freaked out that this kid knew so much anyway. He needed the boy to be quiet for now, at least until jack was out of the hospital. He managed to move his hand awkwardly and cover Hunters mouth for a second before realising how weird that was and quickly moved it again with a roll of his eyes. “Look, I have no idea how you have found out but trust me… Me and Amanda have never been nor will ever be anything other than friends. Besides, she slept with Jack… ew.” Wrinkling his nose up, he stopped trying to push hunter away and stood still, looking down at Hunter with the same, worn out look he had given Jack, clearly not wanting to fight about anything anymore and having nothing to hide.

Jack wanted to listen to see what the two were talking about, but he decided to just lay back down and get some sleep. He simply closed his eyes and just fell back asleep, drowning out any noise that was around him and hoped that things with him and Mason would work out.
Hunter kept his eyes on the witch. He wasn't accusing him of being in love or having feelings, but he was going to ask. Just the fact the two kiss was bad enough. Name-calling and such didn't phase him as he listened intently on what Mason was saying, reading whatever the other had going on through his mind.
I know because I can read minds you idiot.....and it does have to do with me because you know as well as I that it would hurt Jack......that's the mother of his child......how would you feel if Jack slept with one of your siblings? He asked and stepped back now to give the witch room.
He sigh and ran a hand through his hair. Look I wasn't accusing you I was asking.....I think of Jack as a fatherly figure, the man had done alot for me and I would hate to see him even hurt more than he already is...you have no idea the pain he is going through after what had happened that night when the cabin got burnt down...imagine how this is going to hurt him...... He said alittle softer now.

Mason was stumped by the answer the kid threw back at him, even more stumped that he had been called and idiot. He stayed quiet and listened though mostly because he was still lost for words and still trying to make sense of what the boy was thinking. By the time he had finished, Mason straightened himself out and made to smooth his top out again. “Whoa! Look, I never slept with her so you have this completely wrong. I don’t go jumping in to bed with people, I’m not like Jack…” he stopped himself quickly as he realised what he had said, his anger growing and him talking without thinking again. Groaning in frustration at himself, he leant back against the wall and rolled his eyes before concentrating hard on what he said next. “That was irrelevant. I know what I did was just as wrong. What I’m trying to say is my feelings for jack have never changed, I still love him and I still want him. Only him. I made mistakes, stupid huge mistakes because I’m far from perfect and I never meant for anyone to get hurt, least of all him. I just want him to listen to me and let me explain but he kept pushing me away. That’s why I don’t want to tell him yet.”
He bit his lip for a second, glancing at the window and wondering if Jack could hear them. “I just want to see him happy. And right now is not the time to bring this up with him. He doesn’t need any more to think about whilst he’s healing so I think it would be wise to keep this to ourselves for now.” He turned back to the boy and narrowed his eyes. He didn’t trust the kid at all but right now he knew the kid wasn’t stupid and knew that the news would only slow Jack’s recovery. “I’ll tell him when I think the time is best.”

I know you didn't I am using that as a an example on how would it make you feel. He said and rolled his eyes. Both him and Amanda always turn shit on the other person and it was alittle fustrating...he could see why Jack would get pissed at the two of them.
He allowed the other to somewhat walk away, hearing what Mason said and crossed his arms over his chest. He said nothing, only watching Mason and hearing the other speak. Believe me I am not going to say anything...I think you or Amanda should tell him this.....if you guys don't then I will. He added, looking through the door and saw Jack was asleep.
